GUITAR TUNING
It is important to tune the guitar properly before playing and before doing a performance, it will help you a lot to strike the proper note without thinking about sounding awful. There are many techniques and ways in tuning. Open string ( E-A-D-G-B-E ) is the standard tuning of a guitar, but some guitar players tend to tune their guitars to their liking or depending on what type the guitar is. Some guitarists tune their guitar half step down ( Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb ) to relax their voices when singing. Rock bands usually use drop D tuning wherein the lower E string is tuned down to D ( D-A-D-G-B-E ). Bands who uses six string guitars often use drop C ( C-G-C-F-A-D ) to achieve an extra deep tone. Nu-band like slipknot uses drop B ( B-F#-B-E-G#-C# ) and some other deathcore and death metal bands. Neil Young uses double drop D ( D-A-D-G-B-D ) wherein both lower E and higher E is tuned down to D. Guitar players may differ in tuning but all ending up with a nice musical arrangement.
The below are some examples of Standard tuning EADGBE:
