GUITAR EFFECTS MAKES IT BEAUTIFUL
An
effects unit or the so-called "pedal" is an electronic gadget that
changes the colors of the basic sound of an instrument; it manipulates the
original sound to give different variation and create a unique sound
effect. Many musicians are using these tools to capture attention and display
their distinctiveness among others. Instruments like keyboard, bass
guitar, violin, and electric guitar are the usual basic source of electronic
musical sounds that uses effects units. The application of effects units may
depend on the user of the instrument; you may choose what type of effects unit
you are going to use and may adjust it according to your likings. Effects unit
can be a stand-alone sound effect or different types in one, stand-alone only

varieties.
Using
a plain electric guitar is dead like a zombie. As a guitar player, if you want
to make yourself sounding a little different, and you are bored hearing the
same sound variation, then it’s time for you to use effects units. These guitar
effects units will accelerate you to a higher level of guitar playing; it will
make you sound better and unique. Here are some guitar effects units that a
guitarist must have:
11. DISTORTION/OVERDRIVE
Nowadays,
distortion and overdrive effects are commonly built-in in most of the guitar
amplifiers. However, it does not give you the best tweak and the best sound
output you wanted. Therefore, having a stand-alone distortion and overdrive
effects can help you solve the problem. Distortion and overdrive are popular
commonly in rock music; it gives you a unique distorted sound and
electrified-like output with high intensity of volume and gain.
2.
DELAY
Delay
effect is a unique effect that delays the sounding output of an instrument. The
use of delay effect is rarely noticeable. However, it makes your sound fuller
with a three-dimensional quality that makes a performance superb. Check
U2's "Where The Streets Have No Name" and Van Halen's
"Cathedral".
3.
WAH
The
wah effect is probably the most famous guitar effect in the history and
discovered accidentally in 1966 during the attempted redesign of the Vox
Super Beatle amplifier created by Thomas Organ. Nowadays, wah effect is widely
used in different types of genre especially reggae, which made popular by Bob
Marley. Wah effect is like a vocal effect that will give a nice tone and
complexity in your rhythm and ad-lib part if used correctly.
4.
CHORUS
The
chorus effect is not that popular as the other effects, it has a bad reputation
due to some reasons. However, the chorus effect is a modulation effect used to
create a richer, thicker sound and subtle movement. The correct usage of the
chorus will get the three-dimensionality sound like in the wah effect.
Therefore, using and setting up the chorus in a proper manner will give you
great quality.
5.
